CMS Summer Camp Programs

Early Bird Discount: Save $25 off camp tuition if you register by April 1st

Time: 9am-3pm

Ages: 10+

Pre-requisite: Students must have a minimum of two years playing experience on their instrument(s)

Cost: $350

A fun, week-long, interactive, summer day-camp program that encourages enthusiastic young musicians to explore and expand their interests in music through pop, rock, jazz, blues, funk and more. All instruments are welcome. Students will develop their “chops” through participation in the big band and present a final camp concert for family and friends on Friday of camp.

Time: Half-Day 9am-12pm or Full Day 9am-3pm

Ages: 8+ (Students ages 11 and under are encouraged to sign up for the half day camp option.)

Cost:  Half Day: $200/ Full Day: $350

Come join the fun at Cello Fest!

Cello Festival Camp offers cello students an opportunity to have a focused week of individual practice, lessons, classes on technique, ensembles, masterclasses, and a final concert on Friday of camp. Students may enroll for either a half-day or full-day session.

Ages: 8+

Pre-requisite: Students should have completed Level 2 in the Faber & Faber, Alfred, or John Thompson method books, or their equivalent (Aaron method book Level 1 is also acceptable).

Cost:  Half Day: $200/ Full Day: $350

Piano students will have an opportunity for cooperative musicmaking and social interaction with other pianists of similar skill and ages. Students will also study music theory and aural skills, music history and listening, jazz improvisation and accompaniment skills depending on age and ability. Campers will present a final camp concert for family and friends on Friday of camp.

Pre-Requisite: One year of study

Cost:  Half Day: $200/ Full Day: $350

Vivace Strings Camp is a program for beginners to advancing violin and viola students. The program helps students discover and develop musical artistry with emphasis through the “Suzuki approach” and “Traditional approach” to string playing. Activities include group classes, ensembles, and musicianship enrichment classes. There will a final camp concert for family and friends on Friday of camp. Advancing students are encouraged to participate in the full day program while beginners are encouraged to participate as half day campers.

Ages: 4-7

Cost:  $175

Sing, move and make music with five wonderful days of nature exploration. Each day has its own theme with nature crafts & activities:

  • Monday – Tree Friends
  • Tuesday – Learning About Bugs
  • Wednesday –  Weather of All Kinds
  • Thursday – Watery Places
  • Friday – Nature Celebration

Summer Lesson Information and Pricing

The Summer Lesson Schedule runs from July 5th through August 12th. Students may enroll for as many or as few lessons as they like during this time period as the instructors’ schedules allow. All summer lessons are paid for at the time of scheduling and, once scheduled, cannot be moved, cancelled, rescheduled, made up, or refunded.

Lessons can be scheduled and paid for individually, or in 6-lesson packages, which offer a discounted per-lesson rate. Please be aware that 6 lesson packages cannot be divided among multiple students.

Lessons are available in-person and/or virtually depending on faculty availability.

To schedule summer lessons, please fill out the form below. We will be in touch as soon as possible to schedule the lessons by phone or email. Registrations will be processed and scheduled in the order in which they are received.

Prices:

Community Music School is proud to offer affordable and professional instruction to the community.  As a non-profit organization we pride ourselves on keeping our prices competitive, and this is our first price increase since 2018.  We will continue to offer substantial Financial Aid, Scholarship and discounts for those that qualify.
