Board Commitment Letter

I, Board Member, agree to serve as a member of the board of directors of Community Music School. I understand that I can server three consecutive terms.
As a member of the Board of Directors, I agree to:
  • • abide by the Bylaws and Constitution of the organization.
  • • make an annual financial contribution that is meaningful to the organization.
  • • attend all meetings of the Board, including special meetings.
  • • avoid any conflict of interest or apparence of a conflict.
  • • participate in short and long-range planning activities.
  • • ensure effective fiscal controls and accountability.
  • • approve the annual budget
  • • fundraise on behalf of the organization to the best of my ability.
  • • ensure Community Music School meets all legal and corporate requirements.
If, for any reason, I find myself unable to carry out the above duties to the best of my ability, I will first seek leave to the board to a different standard and, if I cannot achieve this, I will agree to resign my position as a board member.
