Daniel Chu Senior Recital
Join pianist Daniel Chu for a magical evening of Romantic masterworks in his senior recital! The program opens with Chopin’s dramatic Polonaise in F-sharp minor, followed by all four of his virtuosic Scherzos, showcasing a range of fiery brilliance, lyrical beauty, and emotional depth. The recital concludes with Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 6, bringing the evening to a dazzling close.
Daniel Chu, 18, is a senior at Spring-Ford Area High School. He has been studying piano at CMS for ten years and is currently a student of Milena Urban. He was a member of the Eridanus Trio, which was coached by Hsiao Ming Chen. They performed at a Pennsylvania Philharmonic concert in 2019 and earned first place at the Tri-County Youth Festival in 2023. Since 2024, Daniel has been a pianist with the Triad FAC Trio under the direction of Eric Coyne and Hsiao Ming Chen and had the opportunity to perform with members of the Philadelphia Sinfonia Youth Orchestra.
Additionally, Daniel has been a member of the CMS Junior Board and has volunteered to perform the piano around the local community. In addition to piano, Daniel has played violin in his school orchestra since fourth grade. He also enjoys composing music and participated in the PMEA Composition Programs in 2023 and 2025, receiving outstanding awards for his submissions in both years. In the fall of 2025, Daniel will attend the University of Maryland, College Park, where he plans to study Computer Science.
