CMS provides music theory classes for beginner to advanced students using the ABRSM curriculum. The aim of music theory study is to give students a thorough understanding of the building blocks of music, starting with basics of notes and rhythm to understanding harmony, counterpoint, composition, and a broad knowledge of composers, their works, structure, style and period. Students can request a placement exam prior to registration to determine which level of the curriculum is the most appropriate. Students may also enroll in private lessons for music theory or composition. Lessons will be billed at the prevailing rate for 30, 45 or 60-minute private lessons.

- Theory Level 1: Thursdays 5:30-6:15pm
- Theory Level 2/3: Thursdays 6:15-7:30pm
- Theory Level 4+: Thursdays 8:00-8:45pm
- Individual Music Theory lessons available upon request.
