Summer Camp Registration is now open! Please see available camps below. Register by April 1st for Early Bird Tuition Rates.

CMS offers individual instrumental and vocal lessons during July and August. Summer registration begins in May for current students and is open to new students beginning June 1st. Private lessons are billed at the prevailing rate. Please contact the Registrar about scheduling lessons and for information about teacher availability. Call 610-489-3676 or email info@cmsmusic.org. Summer scheduling is flexible therefore; students should only sign up for lessons on dates they can attend. No refunds or make-ups will be given for missed summer lessons

MUSIKGARTEN AT THE SEASHORE CAMP

July 6-10, 2020

Monday-Friday 9am-12pm

Ages 4-7 years

Explore the sounds and sights of the sea. Encounter creatures of the sea: whale, pelicans, and turtles. How do these animals move? Can I do that? What sounds do they make? Study shells and make paper boats. Dance and leap like the waves! Join us for singing, creative movement, listening, playing instruments, crafts, and more!

PROGRESSIONS JAZZ BAND CAMP

July 6-10, 2020

Monday-Friday 9am-4pm
Student Ages 10-18

A fun, week-long, interactive, summer day-camp program that encourages enthusiastic young musicians to explore and expand their interests in music through pop, rock, jazz, blues, funk and more. All instruments are welcome. Students should have at least two years experience in their school band program and/or individual lessons. Students will develop their “chops” through participation in a small combo, as well as the big band, comprised of all camp participants. Other activities include workshops on the history of jazz and rock, technical study, chart-reading and composition. Camp free-time can be spent playing games outdoors or indoors with Faculty, reading or even … practicing!

CELLO FESTIVAL CAMP

Come join the fun at Cello Fest!

Cello Festival Camp offers cello students an opportunity to have a focused week of individual practice, lessons, technique and cello history classes, recitals, small and large cello ensembles, master classes, and a final concert on Friday. Students will learn skills in organizing their practice session for effectiveness, developing and enhancing their skills in tone and intonation, and will have the opportunity to work with multiple teachers throughout the week. Students may enroll for either a half-day or full-day session.

SUZUKI POP! CAMP

August 3-7, 2020

Monday-Friday 9am-12pm
Student Ages 5-8

Suzuki POP! students will build a violin out of everyday household items, sing and move with their instrument through a variety of activities building musical skills, learn to watch, listen and follow a conductor and learn more about the Suzuki method of music learning. At the end of the week, students will present a short performance to show off their instruments and what they learned during their week at camp.

VIVACE VIOLINS & VIOLAS CAMP

Vivace Strings Camp is a program for beginners to advancing violin and viola students. The program helps students discover and develop musical artistry. Suzuki and traditional students are welcome. Activities include group classes, small ensembles, combined large ensemble, and musicianship enrichment classes. Advancing students are highly encouraged to participate in the full day program while beginners are encouraged to participate as half day campers.

PIANO CAMP

August 3-7, 2020

Half Day 9am-1pm
Full Day 9am-4pm
Student Ages 8-18

Students should have completed Level 2 in the Faber & Faber, Alfred, or John Thompson method books, or their equivalent (Aaron method book Level 1 is also acceptable). Students will have an opportunity for cooperative music-making and social interaction with other piano students of similar skill and ages. Students will also study music theory and aural skills, music history and listening, jazz improvisation and accompaniment skills depending on age and ability.

Full day – 2 track options:

Gold track: for advanced students who are preparing for auditions, or possibly considering a music major or minor in college, with piano as the applied concentration. We will offer training on aural and written theory, history, as well as performance aspect of the major.

Blue track: for piano students who would like to improve technique and musicianship, as well as build their composition and accompaniment skills.

BRAVO Jr! MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP

Bravo Jr. Musical Theatre camp is a fun and exciting opportunity for kids to shine on stage! Campers will work on singing, blocking, staging, and choreography for a showcase performance on the final day of camp. Everyone will have a chance to show their unique talents!
