Since 1991 Community Music School has been the region’s leading resource for quality music education. Community Music School’s twofold mission is to enrich lives and communities by offering excellent, affordable music instruction to all people and to provide performance opportunities that contribute to the cultural life of the communities we serve. This dual mission is based upon the notion that music should play a central role in the life of any healthy community and that each and every individual has the capacity for music expression at some appropriate level of understanding and skill.
Students in the Suzuki Academy must attend a Group Class: Book 1 – 3 on either Tuesdays or Thursdays 6:00-6:45pm. Students beyond book 3 will move up to participate in the CMS Chamber Music program.Find out more »
CMS STRINGS FESTIVAL SATURDAY, February 15, 2020 Join us for an exciting day of lessons, and technique workshops for harp, violin, viola and cello students of all ages, and a concert performed by CMS faculty & students. Reps from Mount Airy Violins will also be on site with a selection of instruments, bows, cases, supplies, and merchandise. New Horizons is a band program for adults (18+) who are new to music playing or who have previous instrumental experience and want to pick up where they left off! All band instruments are welcome–flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, French horn, baritone, tuba, and percussion. Cost: Just $10 a week!Find out more »
