SUMMARY:Daniel Chu Senior Recital
DESCRIPTION:Join pianist Daniel Chu for a magical evening of Romantic masterworks in his senior recital! The program opens with Chopin’s dramatic Polonaise in F-sharp minor\, followed by all four of his virtuosic Scherzos\, showcasing a range of fiery brilliance\, lyrical beauty\, and emotional depth. The recital concludes with Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 6\, bringing the evening to a dazzling close. \n  \nDaniel Chu\, 18\, is a senior at Spring-Ford Area High School. He has been studying piano at CMS for ten years and is currently a student of Milena Urban. He was a member of the Eridanus Trio\, which was coached by Hsiao Ming Chen. They performed at a Pennsylvania Philharmonic concert in 2019 and earned first place at the Tri-County Youth Festival in 2023. Since 2024\, Daniel has been a pianist with the Triad FAC Trio under the direction of Eric Coyne and Hsiao Ming Chen and had the opportunity to perform with members of the Philadelphia Sinfonia Youth Orchestra. \nAdditionally\, Daniel has been a member of the CMS Junior Board and has volunteered to perform the piano around the local community. In addition to piano\, Daniel has played violin in his school orchestra since fourth grade. He also enjoys composing music and participated in the PMEA Composition Programs in 2023 and 2025\, receiving outstanding awards for his submissions in both years. In the fall of 2025\, Daniel will attend the University of Maryland\, College Park\, where he plans to study Computer Science. \n \n

SUMMARY:Student Recital
DESCRIPTION:We welcome the community to join us for a student recital.  No RSVP is required\, seating is first come\, first serve. \nStudents: Recital sign-up’s need to go directly through your instructor. The recital will be at 7pm\, so please ensure you arrive in time to unpack\, warm up\, etc. Performers\, please remember to dress nicely for the recital – no gym clothes\, jeans\, shorts/short skirts or sneakers if you can help it. Dressing up helps add to the special occasion of performing for family and friends. The students are welcome to go back and sit with their families once they perform. Please plan to stay through the end of the program if you can. It is important to stay and support all of the students who are performing with our enthusiastic applause and appreciation\, whether they are performing early or late in the program. We thank you in advance for attending tonight and helping all of our students feel successful and excited about sharing their musical talents with our community!
