DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Thursday\, September 18th at 11am before our Bach’s Lunch concert for a special opening reception for our new exhibit. Sally Bishop will be here to greet guests. Light refreshments will be served. Stay for the free Bach’s Lunch Concert at 12pm! Her install we be available all of September and October during normal business hours. \nSally Bishop is a local artist residing in Plymouth Meeting. She studied graphic design and art education at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Sally has been a freelance graphic designer\, taught art classes\, and currently is painting and taking photographs. \nArtist Statement: \nWhen I go on a photography walk\, I look for something that catches my eye. It could be about color\, something unusual in the shapes of details or a feeling or mood from the scene. Whichever it is\, it has caused me to take a second look. In the process of looking closer\, I find something exceptional\, and I enjoy sharing what I have found with others. I encourage others to take a second look at what is around you. Many times\, we notice something as we move through our lives\, but do not take the time to look closer. When we look closer\, we can enjoy the moment and learn to see details\, color\, or invoke feelings from just looking. Sally regularly exhibits with Norristown Art League\, and Bucks County Arts Council and other local shows. She has received awards for her art and photography. Sally has presented a photography workshop entitled “A Second Look” discussing her approach to photo selection and how she uses her photos as a reference for painting.

DESCRIPTION:Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories\, Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach JR. is a brand new take on this “masterpeach” of a tale.  Featuring a wickedly tuneful score from the writes of “The Greatest Showman”\, and a witty and charming book\, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree\, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach\, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean\, facing hunger\, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way. \nDirector: Domenick Scudera\, Director\, is Professor of Theater at Ursinus College where he has been teaching acting\, directing\, and theater history since 1997.  He has directed close to 50 plays and musicals at the college. DESCRIPTION:We welcome the community to join us for a student recital.  No RSVP is required\, seating is first come\, first serve. \nStudents: Recital sign-up’s need to go directly through your instructor. The recital will be at 7pm\, so please ensure you arrive in time to unpack\, warm up\, etc. Performers\, please remember to dress nicely for the recital – no gym clothes\, jeans\, shorts/short skirts or sneakers if you can help it. Dressing up helps add to the special occasion of performing for family and friends. The students are welcome to go back and sit with their families once they perform. Please plan to stay through the end of the program if you can. It is important to stay and support all of the students who are performing with our enthusiastic applause and appreciation\, whether they are performing early or late in the program. We thank you in advance for attending tonight and helping all of our students feel successful and excited about sharing their musical talents with our community!
