DESCRIPTION:CMS welcomes Marian Stieber for a vocal master class on Thursday\, June 22 at 7pm. A select group of CMS voice students will perform for the masterclass. All students and parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. \nMarian Stieber Biography: \nMarian Stieber is Professor of Voice\, Coordinator of the Vocal Division and Director of the Opera Company at Rowan University. As a lyric soprano she has achieved critical acclaim professionally as an opera singer\, performing roles such as Mimi in La Boheme\, Violetta in La Traviata\, Marguerite in Faust\, The Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro and the title role in The Merry Widow. She has also performed as solo concert artist with the Philadelphia Singers\, The Basically Bach Festival\, Germantown Oratorio Society\, The Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra\, and The Philadelphia Youth Orchestra. \nIn addition\, Ms. Stieber is highly regarded for her artistry and interpretive style and has presented recitals in Germany\, Hungary\, and Austria as well as the eastern United States. Ms Stieber has been featured in numerous radio broadcasts on WHYY public radio as well as in the national PBS telecast of A Celebration of Handel and Bach. She was a finalist in many vocal competitions most notably\, the Eleanor Steber Foundation Award and the Luciano Pavarotti International Vocal Competition. \nMs Stieber was former Governor of the New Jersey National Association of Teachers of Singing and has adjudicated many competitions. Her students have won awards at the state and national level\, have been accepted at prestigious masters programs and are currently performing in the classical and musical theater fields. \nAs a director of the Rowan Opera Company\, Ms Stieber directs a full opera production each year. She has produced and directed The Merry Widow\, Yeomen of the Guard\, The Magic Flute\, Carmen\, Albert Herring\, La Clemenza di Tito\, Dido and Aeneas\, Suor Angelica\, Le Nozze di Figaro\, The Pirates of Penzance\, Orpheus in the Underworld\, Die Fledermaus\, The Happy Prince\, Countess Maritza\, Cosi fan tutte\, and Amahl and the Night Visitors. Professionally\, she has also served as vocal director for many musical theater productions including Jekyll and Hyde\, Kiss of the Spider Woman\, Kiss Me Kate\, Dames at Sea\, Hair and Candide as well as Rowan’s productions of Fiddler on the Roof\, Guys and Dolls and Nine.

SUMMARY:Julia's Joy 5th Voice Idol Finale
DESCRIPTION:Pillars of Light and Love is hosting our 5th  Tween and Teen Voice Competition as one of our Julia’s Joy Youth Empowerment programs created in memory of Julia Morath.  Contestants auditioned in October and have been receiving free vocal and performance coaching since November. They are ready to have fun and compete in this pop song competition to show you their talent and all they have learned. There will be a panel of judges and the top contestants will be chosen at the end of the first show on February 5th and they will go on to the Finale on February 26th. This year’s show will be held at the Community Music School in Trappe.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a very special night of music as Trappe’s own Mayor\, Matthew G. Wismer entertains and delights audiences with piano repertoire that includes classical favorites and personal arrangements of contemporary pop songs that you love.  From Romantic and Relaxing\, to Showpieces and Encores\, Matthew Wismer plays the music everyone loves and instantly recognizes\, with the feeling\, flair and authority.  Matthew is the owner and operator of 200 acre Northern Star Farm of Trappe\, and two term Mayor of Trappe Borough.  He is the product of a musical family that has produced accomplished pianists\, organists\, accordionists and choral directors spanning several generations. Matthew studied under the late concert pianist\, Paul Manzini. With his great knowledge of musical history\, theory and composition\, as well as in-depth analytical instruction\, Matthew\, under Manzini’s nine year tutelage\, would receive an extensive private education in the study of the world’s finest piano music. Of all the exceptional talent that passed through his studio\, Manzini often said that he was the proudest of Matthew. Matthew credits Paul Manzini for having had the most significant impact on his early musical life. In addition\, he cites a keen interest in the life of concert pianist\, Paderewski and the popular pianist\, Liberace\, two performers who have influenced his style of playing. \nPlease join us for a complimentary wine and cheese reception as we celebrate the opening of gallery artist Cheryl Hart before the concert at 6:30PM!
