SUMMARY:KinderFlute Open House & Informational Session
DESCRIPTION:Come meet our KinderFlute teacher\, Jocelyn Crosby and learn about the KinderFlute program at CMS. \nKinderFlute® is designed to teach students to love music and learn to play the flute—but that is only the beginning! KinderFlute teachers have an intense desire to see each child realize their potential in all areas of their lives. Through learning to listen\, finger\, produce a beautiful tone\, read music\, compose\, and creatively express themselves; students are firing areas of the brain to make learning in all areas more productive Learning materials are colorful\, child-centric and inviting. The group lessons are carefully planned to maximize learning potential. Movement and games are a major component in the group classes so that students maintain a keen sense of alertness. Many of the tenets of the class are based on recent research in neurogenesis and learning potential. \nKindeFlute at CMS is for children ages 5-8 (rising Kindergarteners through Grade 2). The program includes a weekly individual lesson and group class. Parents/Caregivers attend lessons and classes with their child and help with practicing at home. Lessons are scheduled through the CMS Registrar and group class is on Thursdays at 5-5:45pm.
