Welcome to the 2019-2020 Concert and Event Season!

Welcome Friends of CMS!

We thank you for you continued support, and we are proud to present our 14th season of professional concerts to our community. This series is one of the cornerstones of our mission and was created to enrich the lives of all that attend. We have curated a diverse offering of professional musicians that will be sure to appeal to a variety of tastes and hope you will join us. In addition to our professional series, we invite you to attend one of our complimentary student recitals, our free lunchtime concert series Bach’s Lunch, stroll our gallery that features professional artists, or experience one of many our special events!

Kicking off our season in September, CMS is proud to partner once again with SRUTI, the India Music and Dance Society to present a Sitarist, Purbayan Chatterjee. In October, we are belting out Broadway showstoppers and crooning with our “Broadway to Bublé” concert. Kick off the holiday season with our very special family event in November, “The Nutcracker Tea”, and spark your festive spirit in December with a holiday gospel concert with the sacred jazz ensemble, Waverly Alston in the Company of Friends. Join us for some birthday cake in February as we celebrate Beethoven’s 250th with our “Salute to Beethoven” that will feature a distinguished concert pianist and a Grammy award winning violinist! Our season continues in March as the CMS family celebrates American composers that embrace the heart and spirit of the people, cities and landscapes that inspire them with “Heart and Spirit of American Composers.” Our professional season rounds out in April as we host CMS favorite, pianist Terry Klinefelter and her trio. At the heart of our mission is our students. We invite you join us in the spring as they get a chance to showcase their work in our annual “Student Showcase in May, and we are proud to present our newly created annual tradition – our CMS Alumni Concert “Welcome Home!”

We host free Friday night student recitals each month, and on the third Thursday of each month from September through June we host our popular Bach’s Lunch. This free concert series continues to grow and experience patronage from the community. Our art gallery features a wide variety of talented artists and we invite you to stroll through at any time. Our concerts and art exhibits are accompanied by a light reception, so please plan to join us for these combined musical events!

For over 28 years, CMS has hosted more than 1,000 concerts and events for the community. We are passionate about continuing to offer musical and cultural opportunities to the communities we
serve. We invite you to join the CMS family. With your patronage and support, we can continue to perform wonders with our students and the communities we serve!
